Felipe VI: Israeli Actions Against Palestinians Defy Human Conscience

Spain’s King Felipe VI strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s actions in Gaza during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, describing them as “abominable” and contrary to human conscience, while calling for an immediate halt to the massacre of Palestinian civilians.

Hawzah News Agency- In his 20-minute speech, the Spanish monarch emphasized the necessity of Israel’s unconditional commitment to international humanitarian law in Gaza and the West Bank. He also defended Spain and other UN member states’ recognition of the State of Palestine.

Felipe VI stressed the role of the United Nations as the guarantor of collective human values, saying: “Believing in the UN means believing in a world based on rules and principles, a world in which human dignity is non-negotiable.” His remarks stood in clear contrast to the positions of US President Donald Trump and right-wing movements in Spain, including the People’s Party and the Vox Party.

Elsewhere in his address, the Spanish King rejected anti-immigration approaches promoted by extremist currents, describing migration as “a factor for mutual development” that must be managed with respect for human rights. He further underlined the urgency of confronting the climate crisis, pollution, and the destruction of biodiversity, while urging acceleration of a just transition to renewable energies.

Observers noted that the speech represented a vision opposed to Trump’s stances and many right-wing movements at home and abroad, though Felipe VI avoided using the term “genocide” in reference to the Gaza developments.
